Sophomores- Class of 2020

Counselors met with Sophomores in November to discuss credits and progress toward graduation.  Last year they had students complete a Career Assessment through californiacolleges.edu.   Counselors again reviewed their results and the progress they have made with their career search.  Please encourage them to use this tool to do further research on possible career choices.

Sophomore year is the first year for students’ “College GPA.”  Students who are planning to attend 4-year colleges and universities should be striving for A and B grades.  The University of California requires a minimum of a 3.0 Academic GPA (college prep classes.)  As the public universities become more selective, higher GPAs are being required for admittance.  Taking AP (Advanced Placement) classes is also recommended.
